Q1 Product Update: Building Smarter, Faster, More Scalable Operations
OrderGrid continues to evolve with features designed to streamline operations, reduce costs, and deliver greater control for modern food retailers and CPG brands. In this update, we highlight the latest innovations that help our customers recover revenue, improve customer satisfaction, and boost operational efficiency—all while staying resilient in today’s fast-moving fulfillment landscape.
Fulfillment Innovations To Protect Every Order
Delivering on every customer promise is more critical than ever. This quarter, we’ve introduced several enhancements to make fulfillment more resilient and seamless, especially when faced with last-minute disruptions or out-of-stocks.
- Smarter Product Substitutions: We’ve redesigned the substitution picking flow to make replacement decisions faster and more accurate. Pickers now see real-time replacement options and available bin quantities, reducing errors, improving order fulfillment rates, and driving higher customer satisfaction.
- Fridge Replenishment: Cold Chain, Simplified: Managing chilled inventory just got easier. This new replenishment flow enables seamless movement of temperature-sensitive items into chilled bins, enhancing inventory control, lowering labor costs, and improving margin potential for cold-chain operations.
- Fully Customizable Picking Flows: Our Express Picking Configurator now allows clients to fully tailor pick workflows—whether priority-based, zone-driven, or high-volume express. OrderGrid flexes to meet the exact needs of your operation without sacrificing efficiency.
Boosting Efficiency & Flexibility Across Teams
For growing and scaling operations, flexibility and adaptability are key. We’ve introduced updates that help teams work smarter without adding hardware costs or requiring major retraining.
- Mobile Barcode Scanning (No Hardware Needed): All OrderGrid flows now support camera-enabled scanning on mobile devices, removing the need for Zebra hardware. This dramatically cuts onboarding costs and boosts scalability for expanding teams.
- Improved Receiving Accuracy: The enhanced receiving flow now displays listing status for each item at intake, reducing stock errors to under 1% and virtually eliminating waste from incorrect receiving.
Advancing Platform Performance & Resilience
Under the hood, we’ve invested in architectural improvements and new control mechanisms that make the OrderGrid platform more powerful, scalable, and adaptive.
- High-Throughput Order Processing: Our new orchestrator supports over 200 orders per second, with theoretical capacity up to 700,000 per hour. This upgrade is already live with top customers, and Store API integration is expanding next.
- Controlled Rollouts with Feature Flags: We’re introducing a robust feature flag system, enabling controlled rollouts and broader experimentation for faster innovation within our warehouse management flows (including picking, receiving, and cycle counting).
- Return & Replacement Orders: Technology-forward clients can now process returns and hardware replacements more flexibly, with smoother backend handling and improved visibility across systems.
- Front-End Telemetry: Real-time telemetry has been added to accelerate debugging and improve resolution times across the platform.
- Integration Manager: OrderGrid now enables seamless integration with third-party tools and manual uploads. Key features include:
- Automated data imports with a customizable frequency
- External API access
- User invites and shared authentication (coming soon)
